About

Colby is a Manager in the General Services department. He works with nonprofit organizations and privately-held businesses in the retail and services industries, serving his clients primarily as a financial auditor and advisor. After earning his degree from IUPUI, he joined the general service team at Pile. He left Pile in 2018 and worked in financial leadership roles for companies in the IT and Healthcare fields. He rejoined the Pile team in May 2022.

Colby graduated from Anderson University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 2009. He then went on to earn his Master of Science in Accounting from IUPUI’s Kelley School of Business in 2014.

Colby lives in Noblesville with his wife, Courtney, and two children, Landon and Annelise. Outside of work, he enjoys playing golf, distance running, reading, and playing board games with friends and family.

Get to Know Colby

I love the constant variety that working in public accounting offers, having the opportunity to interact with a wide array of clients, companies, and industries.

My favorite sport to watch is football. I am a diehard fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Dallas Cowboys, but don’t hold that against me.

I love going for long runs, reading, and building/playing my board game collection with my friends and family.

I began my professional career as a social worker working with underprivileged families in Indianapolis. I moved into accounting after seeing how important it was for nonprofits to have a solid financial base. Had I not become a CPA, I would have hoped to work my way into nonprofit management.
